The Sixth Incubator was formed at the beginning of 2002 as a project of Incubator mainman Chris Mummelthey and producer Stefan Schunke.
The idea was to release some unconventional albums with a sound rooted in the late 80s/early 90s, like grindcore legends Righteous Pigs, Defecation, Napalm Death, Carcass and Pungent Stench, with a modern touch of industrial and freestyle integrated.
The band released albums in 2002 and 2003 and an EP for the 10th anniversary of the German magazine "Skullcrusher". The albums were strictly limited to 500 units each, and sold out, and are now only available on eBay, with no re-release plans.
The Sixth Incubator has never played live, and both band members have full time bands. A third album was planned in 2008, but has not eventuated.
