England's answer to America's MC5 and The Stooges, Third World War played hard rock/proto-punk with an overtly left-wing political agenda playing in London's underground with the likes of the Pink Fairies, Arthur Brown and Viv Stanshall who would later form the infamous Bonzo Dog Band.
The band was formed in 1970 by manager and producer Paul Fenton along with musicians/songwriters Terry Stamp and Jim Avery. The musical direction was to counter the pseudo-peace movement and with it's no B.S., working class band mentallity the outcome was a raucous, raw, politically revolutionary lyrics that focused on the poor, the disenfranchised, the uneducated and rebels like the Hell's Angels and labourers fighting for thier freedom and were labeled England's first punk band.
The band recorded two albums in 1971 and 1972 and manager Paul Fenton ran out of money and the band splintered.
