Timo Tolkki is a vocalist and guitarist from Finland. He has been involved with several metal bands, most notably the power metal band Stratovarius, whom he is no longer with. His other projects have included Revolution Renaissance, Symfonia and most recently the metal opera project Timo Tolkki's Avalon. He released his first solo album, Classical Variations and Themes, in 1994, operating within the neo-classical metal spectrum.
Tolkki's solo career has spanned several genres with his second album Hymn to Life (2002) being hard rock orientated while the most recent, Saana - Warrior of Light, Part 1 (2008) is new age music.
