To Separate The Flesh From The Bones is a Goregrind/grindcore band from Finland. The band is a side-project of Pasi Koskinen (ex-Amorphis, Shape of Despair, Ajattara), Mika Karppinen (HIM) and Niclas Etelävuori (Amorphis, ex-Moonspell).
The project began in 2002 when the trio decided to create some aggressive gory music which differed radically from their other musical projects.
Though the bandmembers' real names are known, they want to keep their identities hidden by covering their faces in promo pictures and live concerts and by using pseudonyms instead of their real names: Herr Arschstein (Pasi Koskinen), Rot Wailer (Niclas Etelävuori) and Pus Sypope (Mika Karppinen).
The band released an EP in 2004 called "For Those About to Rot", which showed off Carcass and classic death metal influences.
The same year Spinefarm Records released the band's album "Utopia Sadistica", on which Jeff Walker (Carcass) and Lee Dorrian (Napalm Death, Cathedral) make guest appearances.
