Founded in Kristiansand, Norway in 2011
UMPFEL is a Norwegian progressive metal project consisting of Anund VIKINGSTAD on guitar and bass and Andreas Skorpe SJØEN on drums, keyboards and vocals. UMPFEL was formed on November 11th in 2011 in Karmøy, Norway. The duo worked on creating their own sound and recorded 20 demo recordings before releasing their debut album "Cactus" on January 12th, 2015. The album features quite a few influences ranging from DREAM THEATER, OPETH, PLANET X, CIRCUS MAXIMUS and some of the modern bands like PERIPHERY, TESSERACT and ANIMALS AS LEADERS.
