UK act VOLTZ was formed in 1979, more or less as a direct continuation of previous band Airline. At the onset they made themselves known as a covers band, but as time went by they also started sporting their own material. Demo-tapes were made, the band got some regional airplay and just when they started to get some attention, the band split up early in 1981.
The core of the band, brothers Glen (vocals, guitars) and Gary Leinster (drums), decided to give it another go though, and recruited Mark Fisher (guitars) and Paul Hancock (bass). Inspired by the DIY approach used by metal and punk acts both at the time they recorded and released début effort "Knight's Fall" themselves, a production that made quite an impact in the now highly popular NWoBHM movement.
