When Bears Attack! is a metalcore / post-hardcore band from Collinsville in Illinois, formed in 2009.
Vocalist Travis Lambert and guitarist Lucas Johnson had previously worked together in their own experimental band, while Drummer Tyler Lambert worked with his church youth band. Synth player Aaron Nosbisch joined shortly after managing the band for a while.
After the band had been playing for awhile they decided they needed a bassist, and Dylan Stanek was recruited. The band chose its new name from the Biblical story of "Elisha and the Two Bears"(2nd Kings 2:23-25).
