Winds Of Genocide is a death metal-influenced crust punk band from Durham in England, formed in 2006.
"Formed in the rural wastelands of County Durham, North East England.The idea for Winds of Genocide came about in late 2005 during some heavy drinking sessions and after Kat (vokills-ex vocalist of Old School Death metal band Morstice and Heavy Doomrockers Blessed Realm) and Glynn Hall(ex guitarist of Crusty Death Grinders Revolt and Sludge/HC/powerviolence band Hara Kiri)were getting restless of not being in a band after a few years each in the musical wilderness. The founding members of the band initially had problems finding other members/people to complete the line up who are into such underground extreme punk-metal music in the Durham city area who can play drums and bass guitar but eventually found like-minded people to complete the line up in the form of a Swedish guy called Linus who is now playing
