Youkai is a death/grind band from New York City. The band originally formed in 2006 under the name Buttvag by Evil Lolicon and Harry Sinn. The band took on the name Youkai in 2009, named after the Japanese word (yōkai, 妖怪) for a class of supernatural monsters, often dealt with in anime.
