Nemesis is the intense new single from Crema, Italy’s symphonic death metal pioneers, Genus Ordinis Dei. The song features a mind-blowing performance by Melissa VanFleet on guest vocals, and it was recorded and produced by Tommaso Monticelli at Sonitus Studios. The song is about two eternal entities that have been bound together since the beginning of time and tells the story of how they meet again during the apocalypse as “old friends”. When they recognize each other, they finally set aside their differences and stay together to see the end of all things.

Turn on CC for lyrics: The storm arrives Stones from the sky are coming back to their mother-earth And again in the void forever Here we are Silently watching the universe collapsing From nothing to everything, and nothing again There will be nothing again Raziel of knowledge Show our brethren the way through fire Raphael, deceiver Reveal them your betrayal Seventy generations of buried hatred will be set free Behemoth, Leviathan has risen To bring death from sea and sand My half of downfall, we meet again Since Genesis I’ve been willing to see you again Lead the hopeless, let them see the light Gather their souls and clear their way He brings light as well Stay with me Stay to see To see the universe decay The stars colliding We’re breaching into nothing Belial, tempter of Eve, grip them in grief Moloch, baptize their sons with flames They will fight with the giants today Lead the hopeless, let them see the light Gather their souls and clear their way He brings light as well Stay with me Stay to see To see the universe decay The stars colliding We’re Breaching into nothing Here we are Together we’ve seen the beginning of everything From a blank noise to a colorful disharmony Forever divided by our personal loyalty We’re here again This story ends where it began Stay with me Stay to see To see the universe decay The stars colliding We’re Breaching into nothing You, take this piece of soul if you depart And you, take mine in its place I’ll see you at the beginning I’ll see you at the end.
