Synemotion is a journey through emotional states and feelings.
It is instrumental to allow the listener to experience his or her own journey through the music and not guide or limit it through my voice. Words and lyrics are confining, as music allows some structure for the journey but much more freedom for the listeners to experience their own feelings.
The song Run Away is the first song on the album and explores the feeling of wanting to run or escape either away from or “into” something or someone.
It has much to do with temptation and seduction.
And though it might appear we are running from fear or pain.
It is our “desire” in some way for that the person, situation or thing that cements the relationship and causes the experience.
If there were no desire, there would be no temptation, no relationship, no wanting – so no fear, pain or feelings about it.
Neither is “not having desire” the point of this experience. Desire is fundamental to being human.
Run Away is an opportunity to separate desire, natural desire from the artifacts of escapism away from self.
You can only separate the two if you can differentiate the energy of it.
Nature shows seduction in its natural state, beautiful flowers “seduce” bees for example.
Art, music and bodies seduce us.
The issue is when desire is warped into idolization, sexual objectification and the emptiness and shame associated with that.
Why the objectification? Most likely because we have lost touch with ourselves.
In a natural state, you can “desire” without losing oneself, objectifying the other or running away from or into something or someone.
