Song Meaning:
“Versions” is about losing hope. I no longer recognized myself and felt like a ghost of a former self. It was like wearing a mask of who I used to be. I felt myself becoming more and more numb the more I hid behind it. Doing everything in my power to spite what I once thought was morally good, justified, or acceptable.
