After Thin Lizzy was over, guitarist Scott Gorham formed Western Front along with Leif Johansen and Mike Sturgis where he met during the recording of "Phenomena II : Dreamrunner". When they found Thomas La Verdi from a band called A440, Scott invited him to sing for the band, he agreed, and eventually Western Front's brand name was replaced with 21 Guns and "Salute" was released in 1992 under BMG.
21 Guns played melodic hard rock in the same vein as Giant, Tyketto, or early House of Lords with a balance composition of rockers and ballads. "Knee Deep", "Little Sister", and "No Way Out" will shake your ground with the great rocking tunes while "Marching In Time" should have been a big radio hit back then. "Just A Wish" and "Tell Me" are both lovable gorgeous ballads and overall many good songs to listen here. I salute them for bringing a solid and stellar album!
