That's not quite the way I wanna rock 'n' roll...
Genre: hard rock / heavy metal
"Blow Up Your Video" is perhaps the weakest AC/DC album. It's not a bad album, but it does not contain as many strong tunes as the typical AC/DC album does. It also suffers from the typical reverbophiliac production of the 1980s which I personally find annoying.
The opening track "Heatseeker" is an upbeat and uplifting song, but it lacks the typical AC/DC riffing. Fortunately, "That's the Way I Wanna Rock And Roll" fares better in the riffs department, but without ever really being all the way up there. "Go Zone" is so-so; the verse riff is pretty nice and the chorus has its moments. I really like "Meanstreak" which has an almost funky feel to it and "Kissin' Dynamite" whose main riff I just can't get enough of (the chorus is a bit boring though). "Nick of Time" has a nice build-up and a nice chorus. There's a certain melodic sensibility to "Two's Up" and "Ruff Stuff" while "This Means War" has the right amount of energy, but lacks the typical AC/DC catchiness.
As I said, this is not a bad album, but compared to most of AC/DC's other releases, "Blow Up Your Video" is very much an almost-but-not-quite-there affair (because it deserves credit for those cool riffs that it contains).
