When I saw this when it first came out, I was like...Blaze Bayley solo album...in a shop...!
I know, I mocked him a little, which led to this album being a massive surprise.
This album was just...really good. I know Blaze's best work was probably in Maiden before they gave him the Ripper Owens. Their was no real bad songs, every song had at least something I liked about it...and it was consistent yet being able to be entertaining.
With a bit of a power metal edge...this album really needs to be heard to be believed.
1. The Man Who Would Not Die - Great chorus and some amazing vocals from Blaze. 10/10
2. Blackmailer - Very thundering guitar wise and a good chorus, may it be a little repetitive. 10/10
3. Smile Back At Death - A quite length composition...about the movie Gladiator. Pretty epic in its own right. 9/10
4. While You Were Gone - Take away the metal...and what are you left with...a love song. Great metal ballad...sort of. 10/10
5. Samurai - A bit repetitive and annoying. 7/10
6. A Crack In The System - Pretty heavy with some kick ass riffs. 9/10
7. Robot - One of the best songs on the album. Such an amazing chorus. 10/10
8. At The End Of The Day - A bit filler to be honest. 7/10
9. Waiting For My Life To Begin - It says grinding way too much in this song. Who does he think he is...Beyoncé. 8/10
10. Voices From The Past - One of the most kick ass songs on the album. Amazing vocals. 10/10
11. The Truth Is One - Great chorus and some head banging riffs. 10/10
12. Serpent Hearted Man - Good chorus and some nice twists and turns. 9/10
CONCLUSION: Was incredibly suprise...I need to hear his new one...shud be as good I hope.
