This is one of those albums that leaves me mesmerized. Transfixed on its extreme brutality from beginning to end. Although it's hard to put a finger on why this album is a notch better than other albums like Zos Kia or Apostasy, this one in my opinion is pure perfection. Sonic brutality simply doesn't get better than this.

The combination of Inferno's virtuosic machinegun drumming, Nergal's wickedly delicious deranged vocals, Orion's thunderous bass and the acoustic and electrified guitar madness result in a recipe of brutality that leaves all others in the dust. This is 100% virtuosic performances by everyone at every moment for an intense 40+ minutes.

Just looking at photos of these guys I see they are a unique force in the blackened death world possessed by demons and accompanied by crows unleashing their morbidity unto this world through musical hooks and sonic destruction showing the world that there indeed has been a beast in the country of Poland that has been awakened ready to unleash its musical fury on unsuspecting ears. Not sure if they'll ever top this one.

A run of solid death metal albums had already established Behemoth as a credible player in that field, despite their origins in black metal, but Demigod takes things to the next level, making Behemoth serious contenders for being counted amongst the leaders of the genre. Inferno deserves full credit for the drumming on this one, with his driving, martial patterns driving the absolutely furious songs along, whilst Nergal delivers a vocal performance which makes his preceding work seem positively tame. Blowing away both the competition and their own previous work, Demigod must surely be one of Behemoth's greatest accomplishments to date.

Vobiscum
Wonderfully heavy and majestically worked. The surgical precision of each chord is difficult to describe in a simple way. Drummer "Inferno" seems to use a jackhammer and also explosive elements. His technique is impressive, largely responsible for the quality of this album. Whether in the studio, whether live, "Nergal" has the same power in his voice and all other members have a sync gratifying to see and hear. The support provided by "Seth" in the category riffs and arrangements are essential. In these styles usually the bass is not as prominent but if not there certainly would feel the lack. "Orion" would be the least member who "appears". For those who think a metal band can only be aggressive melodies with no room to build more, "Demigod" is an exception that transcends the limits of creativity to an album "Black Death". The solo on "Conquer All", the lilting "The Nephilim Rising", and of the most technical, with rhythmic variations in high-level, which permeate the entire album. The musical maturity displayed in "Demigod" is a milestone not only for the "Behemoth" but for "Metal" itself that since then, created a school of bands that do not open the hand heavy but also chose to have technical and creativity in their work.
