UMUR
"The Mist(ify)" is the second demo recording by Finnish death/thrash/heavy metal act Benefits Forgot. The demo was independently released in April 1993. It´s the successor to the November 1991 "...and We Fell" demo and it´s the last release from Benefits Forgot before they disbanded.
Benefits Forgot have changed their style a bit since the first demo. They´ve made their music heavier, darker, and they´ve also added some melodic leads and they´ve removed the thrash/heavy metal leanings. There´s also an occasional death´n´roll (Xysma) influence heard, but "The Mist(ify)" is predominantly a melodic inclined death metal release. The quality of the songwriting is alright, but nothing out of the ordinary for the genre.
Benefits Forgot are a well playing band and lead vocalist/bassist Teemu Korpi delivers his raw snarling vocals with the right amount of conviction. "The Mist(ify)" is also fairly well produced considering that it´s a demo so a 3 star (60%) rating isn´t all wrong.
