BUCKETHEAD PIKE 19 - TEETER SLAUGHTER reviews

PIKE 19 - TEETER SLAUGHTER is the 9th album released by BUCKETHEAD in 2013 and the 49th overall studio solo release. After a very predictable mellow PIKE 18, this one takes the listener into the extreme avant-garde and world of experimentation. Yay! My favorite types :) While BUCKETHEAD performs on all instruments, Dan Monti and Albert are the producers. The eleven instrumental tracks are all titled TEETER SLAUGHTER parts 1 - 11 but really all blend into each as to create one 31:39 listener experience where the sounds are simply annexed to each other like power hungry cities gathering more tax dollars

pUBLic pARTs …..

ONE(1,54) begins slow and easy with clean guitars but soon changes into a weird guitar effect world. The effects are very unsettling and the time sigs are jarring and the creativity level is turned up to full fuelage. This includes rhythms, instrument interaction and guitar solos. WEERD!

TWO(2,52) continues with more highly distorted guitars, strange time sigs and musical wilds

THREE(3,25) continues the wEIrdNeSS &&& takes THE lissner2newFunkyWORLDS. Gawd this is brilliant. For super adventurous listeners only

FOUR(2,46) begins a new sound where the weirdness continues! weird chords, time sigs etc

FIVE(2,58) is funky, ya hear? funkified 2 da max BuTT mo dan dat

SIX(4,45) goes into ambient territory and extreme progressive electronic but picks up a drum beat and qualifies as electronica i guess with guitar and bass lending a hand intermittently. The changes that go on with this one are the wet dreams of every eclectic prog lover

SEVEN(3,48) is a nice mellow relief to the intensity but is unorthodox as well. Nice bass and clean guitars. But then it goes crazy with heavy hard rock and then back to funky bass and then mixes and then well no rules here. Another great weird track

EIGHT(2,20) goes into metal territory with strange slide metal guitar and too much more to mention but it is very eclectic and wwweeeiiiiiirrrrrrddd!

NiNE(3,10) becomes funky again but retains the eclectic mixing up of wild mood swings

TEN(2,12) metal, electronica and ambient having the perfect orgasmic interaction

11 has the time length of one minute and forty nine seconds AND

OMG! This album is so all over the place that it makes me wanna touch myself in totally inappropriate pubic places. It is the perfect avant-garde experimental rock album and my absolute FAVORITE of the PIKE series so far. I am an adventurous music lover and although i love the simplicity of much music i have to say this pushes all my eclectic avant-garde buttons in all the right ways and makes me feel OH sooooooooooo good. This is truly one of the coolest PIKES of all in my world and i will listen to this one many times over. BH is truly evil for making me weed through the fields of mediocrity to get to this ripe crop
