About this release
Independent, June 5th, 2020
'Jackie Crin' is the first release by Cacaorcass to feature a guest musician, in this case JS, who was responsible for all lyrics and vocal performances. Inspired by KB's incessant love for grind and d-beat since his teens as well as his friendship with JS for nearly a decade, 'Jackie Crin' personifies the impersonal - the fantastic and fictional eponymous persona. As seen in the album artwork, the central figure may resemble an individual supporting the intentionally leaderless movement of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, where one veils their identity, which ironically asks the viewer to think who this person might be, who might be Jackie Crin. As heard with the words of JS, the combination of absurdist humor, moving wordplay, and provocative commentary, the listener is invited to feel, to grow, and to think even more than before.
