Warthur
Adding on several tracks a horn section (of all things) to the band's lineup, School's Out continues Alice Cooper's explorations of all things sleazy and gives a particular focus to adolescence - hence the title track, hence the regular references to West Side Story. The production values on many CD editions are pretty shakey (I don't know whether the 2009 remaster sounds better since I don't own it), and whilst the title track is an absolute classic the regular stabs at prog rock (such as at the beginning of My Stars) aren't convincing, and of the classic run of albums from Love It To Death to Billion Dollar Babies this probably the least interesting... but that still means it's a great slice of down and dirty glam rock. Not one to judge Cooper's entire career on, but worth a listen if you like the rest of his glam rock era.
