UMUR
"Quilquish Septicemia" is the first demo release by Swedish death metal act Cremation. The demo was independently released in 1989. Little is known about Cremation, but they only released this demo and then folded. They are not to be confused with the other contemporary Swedish Cremation, who released the 1993 "Cremated" demo and then folded.
The material on the 6 track, 17:58 minutes long demo is a primitive thrash tinged form of early death metal. As this is a rehearsal demo with a very raw and lo-fi sounding production job, the tracks aren´t given the best platform to shine, but even with this primitive sound quality it´s easy to hear that Cremation wasn´t a particularly well playing act, and that their musical ideas weren´t that advanced at this point. They play a cover of "Evil Dead" by Death, and the fact that it´s the best track on this release, says a lot about the band´s original compositions. So this is nothing unusual for 1989 and it´s definitely one of the lesser interesting of the Swedish death metal demo tapes from that year. A 1.5 - 2 star (35%) rating is warranted.
