1967/ 1976
Having recovered the tapes of Stockholm 1970 we can realize how he was a Purple concert in 1970: a lava flow of notes and struggles between Blackmore and Lord over who should be the "Leader Maximo" of Purple. So the songs were distorted, often without a logical, but to tell people to get to these concerts as they smashed the world. And the work (dirty) of Glover and Paice... That comes in second plan, although it is all too evident. Ian Gillan also must accommodate all this chaos. Succeeding too well.
That said, Deep Purple here should not be put into question: too good, too much heavy metal, too exciting (even if today we get bored listening to this concert). Sure, in hindsight, in this recording are the Deep Purple in a phase that is not yet 100% Blackmore but that is not 100% Lord. It does not help. But there is all the power (and even too much). And, finally, Purple did not disappoint.
