UMUR
"Two (Poverty)" is the 2nd full-length studio album by US thrash metal act Demiricous. The album was released in October 2007 by Metal Blade Records.
The music on the album is thrash metal with a raw and aggressive hardcorish sounding frontman. The music is less Slayer influenced than the case was on the band´s first album "One (Hellbound) (2006)", but there are still hints here and there. While the main focus in all songs is on aggression and power, the album is actually pretty varied. You get both heavy mid-paced riffing, faster paced riffing and even the occassional blast beat. The songwriting is generally of decent quality but like the case was on the debut album, the songs aren´t that memorable.
The production is powerful and punchy.
I like the fact that Demiricous has left the dominant Slayer behind on "Two (Poverty)". The problem is still that the band need to write some more memorable songs though. They have all the right tools to do so. A 3 star rating is warranted.
