DEMONS & WIZARDS TOUCHED BY THE CRIMSON KING reviews

Specialists/collaborators reviews

Warthur
Despite the title calling King Crimson's debut to mind, Demons & Wizards' second album isn't all that proggy - instead, it's fairly straight down the line power metal from the duo of Kürsch and Schaffer, which fairly consistently sticks to the stylistic conventions of its subgenre. As I understand it, the band attempt to plot a middle course between the approaches of Iced Earth and Blind Guardian, though on this release I hear a little more late-period Blind Guardian in the mix; either way, if you are very, very fond of both of those bands it may be worth a try, but less devoted power metal listeners may find this doesn't offer much which the stronger Blind Guardian albums don't do a better job of delivering.
