Crossing the border of Bay Area's finest thrash creature, Metallica, particularly their first two albums, and the harshness of Germany's deadly assault from the likes of Kreator and Destruction, Dexteram mold an enjoyable album for those who favor the mid-80s thrash style. Hailing from Colombia, an unordinary place for a thrash act, the band puts out a promising output, I love most of the riffs, however honestly I'm not very fond of the vocal part, because I prefer him to sing in a clean style rather than semi-growl like this.
The pinnacle of this album are on three tracks : the title track, a great fast-paced track with a brutally beautiful riffs; 'The Devil's Acolyte', another brilliant riffs with a major hooks on chorus; and the aptly-titled 'Thrash Metal', awesome intro part, the everchanging tempo with Master of Puppets scent and some Iron Maiden feel. Other great tracks are 'Confession' and 'Inquisition', and the rest are pretty typical classic thrash and enjoyable as well, nothing's shabby here though half of this album is at the average line.
Interesting debut and hoping to see a growing process in the sophomore record. Good job!
