DIAMOND LANE WORLD WITHOUT HEROES reviews

Stephen
'World Without Heroes' is a loud shout to the world that Diamond Lane is ready to kick some action with their high-octane fire-burning sleaze metal in the veins of Hardcore Superstar, Guns N' Roses, and Avenged Sevenfold. They make sure that the modern element is enough to keep their sound updated, but the riffs and solos definitely rely heavily on the past.

'All Rebels Welcome' seems to invite you to an explosive party with its ferocious distortion on the verse and blasted high to the sky with its melodic chorus. 'I Know Who You Did Last Summer' is a hilarious parody of a famous horror movie, and while it's good, it can't beat the awesomeness of 'City of Sin' and 'Sundress City'.

'Needle Down' and 'Heaven's Falling' are two examples of their heavier side, the most heavy metal sounding on this album with probably the latter is a better track. 'All The Pretty Things' is basically the weakest link here, the verse is patchy and the sound is too modern for my taste, but not a bad track at all. 'Never Going Home' has a thick riffs, great verse, perfect chorus, an all round damn fine tune and 'Endgame' finished the album with style, another modern-edge track but still very classic sounding.

First half is tremendous but then second half started to feel bumpy, especially on some patchy verses but since Diamond Lane is still in the early stage of development, so it's pretty much acceptable for me, and in fact, with such accomplishment, they actually have done a fantastic job here and they deserved a round of applause for making an enjoyable album.
