Eh? What the? Uggggh......

Enemy of The Sun, even though they're not the most dull metalcore/mallcore act out there, are still pretty unlistenable. "Shadows", their debut, was released in 2007, and it honestly doesn't look bad from the outside. The cover is extremely bland and unoriginal, yes, but it's better than the aberration that lies inside the contents of this disc.

Enemy of the Sun can easily be described as yet another failed Machine Head/Trivium clone trying waaaaaaay too hard to make something original in the "thrash" scene. That is the aspect where this album fails. There is not a hint of thrash here. They are also labelled as "death" but, as Empyreal on Metallum said, that is absolutely laughable. The "death growls" on here sound more like pig sqeauls, and after unfortunately being exposed to shitty abortions like Perverse Recollections of a Necromangler (don't ever mention that slop to me again), that's never a good thing (the growls on here aren't as laughable as on the aforomentioned album but you get the point.) This is just boring, mindless, chugachuga mallcore BS that will appeal mainly to fans of Slipknot and Korn. Unlistenable from my perspective. Buy it only if you like to the bone mallcore. Everyone else, avoid.
