"S/M Party" is an EP release by by Finnish, Oulu based thrash metal act Faff-Bey. The EP was released through Grave Records in 1988 (originally on 7" vinyl). It´s a follow-up release to the band´s debut full-length studio album "Back from the Grave", which was released earlier the same year.
The EP features 3 tracks and a total playing time of 4:54 minutes, so you don´t get much quantity for the money. "S/M Party" and "Disgustingly Depraved" are culled directly from "Back from the Grave" (1988), so the only track on the EP which is exclusive to this release is "Psycho". A track which was recorded in January 1988 along with the rest of the material which ended up on "Back from the Grave" (1988). "Psycho" was left off the album.
"S/M Party" is a naughty little punk song (featuring lyrics which read: "Suck me, Fuck me, Whip me", "Let me hit, Hit, Hit your body"). "Disgustingly Depraved" is a savage hardcore punk influenced thrash metal track, while "Psycho" is lyrically relatively offensive track, featuring lyrics about raping and killing the protagonist´s mother. Stylistically it could seamlessly have fit on "Back from the Grave" (1988), although it would have been one of the lesser tracks of the album.
"S/M Party" isn´t the most neccessary release if you already own "Back from the Grave" (1988), as you only get 1:50 minutes of new music with "Psycho", and as mentioned above it isn´t the best Faff-Bey composition. A 3 star (60%) rating is warranted.
