Farcry came back with their second album and even though Mark Giovi still sang in this album, not long after its release, Giovi decided to part off and his role was replaced by Mike Ledesma. The band put up a consistent display of melodic rock, continuing what's left in the 'High Gear' debut, and I think it's just as strong as the debut and perhaps I rated this slightly higher because it sounds more original and being more original without cover versions.
Apart from the fact that all songs are enjoyable, there are only two really outstanding tracks for me. The first one is 'Over and Over (Again)' and the other thing is 'Now That It's Over'. The next best things are the acoustical power ballad, 'Better Than This', which could be a monster song if they opted for high-register singing; 'Free', a relaxing tune; and 'Best of Me', a light and easy listening track.
The rest aren't bad but I could go on without them. 'Satisfaction' is a potential but the chorus is too similar with Poison’s 'Nothin' But A Good Time'; 'Nothing You Can Do' started well but dropped fast on the weak chorus; 'When The Lights Go Down' is average and simply just too long. However, overall this is a pleasant album for melodic rock fans, and nothing's mindblowing here but fits perfectly as a nice driving companion. 80%
