Vehemency
Native, a seven inch vinyl release from this raw USA black metal band Furdidurke, follows the same pattern as the previously reviewed self-titled compilation. In fact, these three songs already appeared on the compilation, so actually Native offers nothing new, except a lyrics sheet and the warm vinyl sound.
Furdidurke’s trade mark guitar riffs are here, best presented on the first track ”Native to a Noxious Glow” that has somehow grown to be THE Furdidurke song. Furious, maniacal and somehow upbeat guitar riffs are being fired all the time, tempo being mostly set at high. ”Be a Witness” is in the same spirit and so is the B side track ”Crosses of No Signifance” except with partly slower tempo.
At first I thought of giving Native three stars for the sake of not providing anything new to those who have heard the compilation, but then, what the heck, it is good material nonetheless. Besides, the songs have now titles and lyrics (which are, by the way, rather absurd yet interesting). In case you want to hear some of the best Furdidurke songs on vinyl, be sure to pick this up too along with the compilation tape.
