Some agonic death metal...
Genre: death metal
Straight out of the Chilean underground, Horrifying are here to haunt your dreams and feed your nightmares with their debut EP "Euphoric Existence" courtesy of the Swedish label Blood Harvest.
The EP features three tracks, as of which are in a more more blackened vein of death metal. The three tracks pretty well composed and feature all the typical traits of blackened death metal, such as old school death metal riffage and blastbeats as well as general brutality. The vocals are harsh and guttura while the guitar solos are totally chaotic. So, death metal-wise, there is nothing wrong here.
The production is considerably lo-fi, which is not a problem in itself. Sadly, the mix is such that the bass drums are really loud, and the vocals are really loud, while the guitars are not loud enough. This, combined with the overall fuzziness of the production, does make the EP a bit tedious to listen to. But, as mentioned, music-wise there is nothing wrong.
Dirty death metal filth to the core, "Euphoric Existence" should definitely appeal to fans of old school death metal and blackened death metal.
