Chaos revolts...
Genre: brutal death metal
Look at the cover. It's nasty, isn't it? Now listen to the music. It's awesome, isn't it?
The I Chaos guys deliver the good on this their debut album. The core style is semi-technical brutal death metal, which is driven by solid and crushingly brutal riffs and relatively complex song structures with lots of things going on. Although a brutal death metal release, "The Human Repellent" contains a lot of thrash elements which generates a nice dynamic in relation to the blasting brutal death metal passages and the heavier slamming-friendly passages.
All tracks on this album are great, and all the riffage is amazing, but my favorite elements is actually the guitar solos, which have a sort of Pestilence-like experimental jazz feel to them. Very tasty!
This is really good stuff, and it is well-produced to, and I would say that, when it comes to quality technical brutal death metal I Chaos definitely are in the same league as Suffocation.
So, if you like brutal death metal with finesse, do yourself a favor and check out this album.
