"Reh.1.3.90" is a rehearsal demo by US death metal act Incantation. The demo was recorded in January 1990 and it´s the first release by the band after forming in 1989.
The rehearsal demo features two tracks. A cover of "The Third of the Storms (Evoked Damnation)" by Hellhammer and the original composition "Profanation". As it´s the nature of a rehearsal demo the two tracks are recorded live in the band´s rehearsal space. While it´s not exactly pristine sound production values the listener are treated to, it´s possible to hear what´s going on. It´s raw, murky, and noisy, but also charmingly authentic and savage.
While the Hellhammer cover is rather forgettable, it´s obvious from listening to "Profanation" that Incantation were on to something already this early on. A 2 - 2.5 star (45%) rating is warranted.
