In 1995, Kiss performed an episode of MTV Unplugged that was cited by many fans as the stepping stone of Kiss' reunion after the last studio album, "Revenge" in 1992. Stanley and Simmons contacted former members, Criss and Frehley, and they're also shared the same stage with Eric Singer and Bruce Kulick. This record, which was spanned for almost an hour length, was commercially sold well, racking up gold status, and I consider this as one of the most entertaining unplugged shows.
Kiss played a lot of classic songs from their earlier era and among those songs that became my favorites are "Comin' Home" from "Hotter Than Hell"; "Do You Love Me" and "Beth" with Peter Criss on vocal from "Destroyer"; "Sure Know Something" and "Two Thousand Men" with Ace Frehley on vocal from "Dynasty"; "Domino" with Gene Simmons on vocal and "Everytime I Look At You" from "Revenge". They also played "See You Tonight" from Gene Simmons' solo which is wonderful and the whole members performing "Rock And Roll All Nite" is just remarkable.
Many classic hits and familiar songs are performed in an acoustic rendition and that's probably a single reason enough for long time fans to buy this, but if you're not familiar with Kiss' catalogue, this could be a great starter. I love how the emotion were brought out and to see how people's reaction to this intimate gig is just mind blowing. An enjoyable show, an entertaining disc, an applauding performance !
