Sweden, a country that just never short of great bands, pouring out like a big flood in the rainy season. The band's name sure recalls you of Aerosmith, but I think they probably seized the name out of Guns N' Roses' track when that band covered Aero's classic track in "Lies" because I can hear some of GNR trace here, a bite of Motley's furious style maybe, a touch of Bon Jovi's sway, and packed with a huge Kiss influence from their pop metal era in the mid 80s. Ward's baritone vocal style is very similar to Paul Stanley, it's just he got a heavier timbre. A very unique singing style because these days, you will often find many Axl Rose or Sebastian Bach's high scream disciples instead of low crawly type like this, though I always prefer a high-register singer, Ward and Mama Kin did this right with a well-composed and brilliant songs arrangement.

This debut contained many addictive hard rock tunes, most of them are mid-tempo, so nothing's really aggressive, with a decent amount of commercial groove. Songs like "Badge And A Gun", "Mrs. Operator", "Higher & Higher" are among my favorites. "Superman", their first single, is also a fun track and "Too Much", a semi-ballad rockers is another winner. Some other songs could have been tweaked better, such as the title track, "You Belong To Me", or "You", but at least those tracks are also still enjoyable. If you like Kiss' "Crazy Nights" or Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet", Mama Kin's debut is worth your hard-earned penny.
