"For All Eternity" is the third full-length studio album by US, Wisconsin based death metal act Morta Skuld. The album was released through Peaceville Records in September 1995. It´s the successor to "As Humanity Fades" from 1994, which is probably the most well known release by Morta Skuld.
Stylistically "For All Eternity" continues the predominantly mid-paced death metal style of "As Humanity Fades", which is of course wise enough given the (underground) success of the predecessor. That also means that Morta Skuld continue to play some pretty run-of-the-mill US death metal which is well played and well produced, but lacks a songwriting identity. It´s not that Morta Skuld sounds like any particular contemporary artist, but they just don´t bring anything to the music themselves. Instead they seem content rehashing tried and true death metal riff and rhythm styles and churn out one standard quality death metal tune after another.
When that is said "For All Eternity" is still a good quality US death metal release and Morta Skuld deliver the goods in terms of good musical performances. A 3 star (60%) rating is warranted.
