"Good Times, Bad Times" is a single release by US thrash metal act Nuclear Assault. The single was released through Under One Flag in 1988 and is a companion release to the band´s 2nd full-length studio album "Survive (1988)". The Led Zeppelin cover title track is also featured on "Survive (1988)", while the remaining four tracks on the 7:26 minutes long single, are exclusive to this release (at least in these versions). The three very short tracks "Hang the Pope", "Lesbians", and "My America", are featured in live in the studio versions, while "Happy Days" is a new studio track.
"Good Times, Bad Times" is delivered in a relatively faithful version, and it´s decent though nothing out of the ordinary. "Hang the Pope", "Lesbians", and "My America" are as mentioned pretty short tracks and especially the two former are fast grindcore/hardcore influenced tracks. "Happy Days" is probably an outtake from the "Survive (1988)" recording sessions, and as the title suggests it´s a track with a light mood, which is a bit unusual, and probably the reason why the band didn´t feel it would fit on "Survive (1988)".
upon conclusion "Good Times, Bad Times" is an entertaining enough little single release by Nuclear Assault, but it´s certainly on the short side if we´re evaluating the release on quantity for the money. There´s nothing wrong with the quality of the material though and a 3.5 star (70%) rating is deserved.
