Fratricide in the holy house of God...

Genre: death-grind

Chaos, utter chaos! I am sure this is how many uninitiated listeners would describe this album and the brutal blend of death metal and grind metal it features. Right from the start, the listener is treated to blastbeat upon blastbeat paired up with dark and brutal - often primitive - riffage.

Each track is a compact onslaught of brutality and seeming chaos, but if one listens closely, one will hear that Prosanctus Inferi carefully balance variation and repetition. And it is this brutality and chaos which is the main attraction of the album, as none of the tracks one the album is particularly memorable in terms of grooves and melody and the like.

The key word here is extremity, and "Pandemic Ululations of Vesperic Palpitations" is, if anything, the epitome of extreme music. The production if fuzzy and the performance organic, and the compactness of each track is at odds with the long song titles (I have to say, I really like the far out nature of the song titles on this album).

If you are into extreme death-grind music where brutality is at the forefront, then you should check this one out. But, be warned, that it might be a bit of a strange experience, as the album features the organic and chaotic drumming of Antichristus who committed suicide before the album was released.
