I'm not a fan of this type of Metal: mix of Prog Metal and Power. For me, a band must be well deployed in these two genres. In this case I think that Revoltons is an emblematic case: with Gianni Rui as vocalist the music is a good Prog Metal but with Andro as vocalist the music is a good Power Metal.

In my point of view in 2000 Revoltons are only 5 guys from Vajont (Pordenone) (P.s.: extremely close to my house) they wanted to smash the world, without wanting to think about musical dimension. Prog Metal meant for them to enter the Italian Prog Metal in the PFM or Le Orme. For these five guys Prog Metal meant place Metal in the Prog of PFM and Le Orme. And sure this demo is more than a manifesto of what I wrote.

In fact the songs are Prog Metal but Le Orme or PFM aren't distant from this music. Because this music is complex but with great immediacy. In this demo are the keyboards of Andrea Corona that dominates the scene and sure Gianni Rui isn't a Metal singer. So the songs have interesting pure Prog parts. The Prog Metal parts are technically but not complex and the part with voice are extremely close to pure Prog. So "Joy" have a Le Orme/ Dream Theater feeling, for a good example.

In definitive Revoltons was a band that wanted to split the world, due to compositional technique. Several lineup changes (also due to a tragedy that will mark the path of the band), and especially the entry of Andro will be crucial. But at this stage of the band want to play revolutionize Prog Metal was a really good exercise. Which, fortunately, has not left that gulf deserved. But, after all, it was better that things happened as they did.
