"Forever Entangled" is the debut full-length studio album by Danish thrash metal act Sacrificial. The album was released through Trechoma Productions in April 1993. Sacrificial formed in 1990 and released some demos in the early 90s, before being signed. "Forever Entangled" was co-produced by Sacrificial and Jacob Hansen (who would later become quite the prolific producer) and mixed and engineered by the latter.
Sacrificial play an aggressive and at times even brutal type of thrash metal, and the material on "Forever Entangled" are comparable to the output of mid-80s Dark Angel and other similar artists like Devastation and Gammacide. Sacrificial are a well playing group, delivering sharp thrash riffs and rhythms, but lead vocalist John Hansen´s forced raw delivery isn´t pleasant on the ears, and a less strained vocal performance would have elevated the album to a higher level.
Not many of the tracks stand out either, so the album could also have prospered from more songwriting variation and catchiness. A track like "Thus I Cry" do stand out though, as it features a chorus you can remember and shout along to. The sound production is lacking heaviness and bottom end, which robs the music of some of its power, so upon conclusion "Forever Entangled" isn´t the most interesting thrash metal release out there. A 3 star (60%) rating is warranted.
