1967/ 1976
Interesting live recorded during Donnington's Park's Monsters Of Rock 1980. The songs are from 1st and2nd album, if I see correctly.
Interesting, of course, the fact that these songs are close to studio version but with more underground treatment. Not for this fact, these songs less magic and powerful feelings. Sure, for me the perfection of "Motorcycle Man", "Still Fit To Boogie", "Wheels Of Steel", "747 (Strangers In The Night)" (my preferred Saxon's song), "Midnight Rider" and "Frozen Raindow" are more good in these version that in studio version. Clearly this album is good if NWoBHM please you.
Clearly this isn't a perfect live album. More for Saxon's collectors or fans or for NWoBHM aficiònados. Or also for Power Metallers. Sure that in 1980 Saxon are at the maximum powerful force. In this sense I think that, in a correct view, this live album is a good purchase and addition in your Metal discography.
Other words... Better to listen to this album... I don't want to spoil the magic of this live album.
