Consisted of two old members of WHITESNAKE, Neil Murray and Micky Moody, no doubt that SNAKECHARMER is a new band that'll try to relive their classic bluesy years. Chris Ousey stood up to be their 'David Coverdale' and he did a pretty fine job holding the mic. I always like Ousey's vocal character but for the last few years, he has released a string of very average stuffs like newer HEARTLAND stuffs or his eponymous solo. I'm afraid the curse of Ousey continues with this as apart from around 4-5 good tracks, the rest suffered terribly from dull songwriting.
'Accident Prone' made a good single although 'To The Rescue' is definitely the better track here. I also like 'Falling Leaves', the nice touch of slow bluesy is just beautiful. 'Smoking Gun' with a nice classic Hammond keys intro also a pretty good track although the verse should have been tweaked better. 'Stand Up' is acceptable, but tracks like 'A Little Rock & Roll' is just dreadful. 'My Angel' and 'Turn of The Screw' didn't have nothing special at all, and after couple of spins, you'll totally forget about it.
The rest four tracks also fell in the range of 6 to 6.5 and blame these for making them a weak WHITESNAKE copycat. This year, VOODOO CIRCLE and BURNING RAIN has released two new albums that's quite close to WHITESNAKE and much better than this, so I recommend pick those first or pull out the original WHITESNAKE albums instead. This one .. hm not bad of an album but hardly good!
