Strange. steve Morse isn't a Symphonic artist. But this compilation is a Symphonic compilation. In any case my first contact with Steve Morse it happened with the concert than Deep Purple did in Pordenone in 1997 (How many years are passed...). But in this case Steve not impressed me... Because for me in Deep Purple steve is only the substitute (but extreme good) of Ritchie Blackmore. Is sure, vice versa, that in this compilation I discovered another Steve. One Steve more Symphonic Prog Metal... But sure Always filled of feeling and technnique!!! In fact "Heightened Awareness", that for me is Symphonic Metal, is feeling and technique. "Prognosis" is more Art Rock/ Prog Metal... But with a feeling...!!! "La Villa Strangiato"... In this Prog Metal version is... Too cool!!! "The Clap" is good, but not to the level of Steve Howe perfonming. "Quantum Soup" of Jordan Rudess is a simply Symphonic Prog Metal... But sure... A very extreme good piece of Classic Prog!!! "Busybodies" is another good piece in the vein of "heightened Awareness" and "Led On" is a strange Remix by Mark Gage in Vapourspace... AAARRRGGGHHH!!! "Air On A 6 String"... Albinoni in a Baroque Prog Metal song? Yes, it is!!! "Air On A 6 String" is simply one of the best song that I have listen!!! Simply and with too feeling... Simply a perfect song... And a new standard for every guitarplayer!!! "Wooden Music" is more New Age but another emotional song. Because it is true... Steve Morse isn't Blackmore... Steve Morse is Steve Morse.

Extreme good compilation. Insert this CD in CD player. Push play button... And... Dreaming!!!
