"Failure to Perfection" is the debut full-length studio album by Danish death metal act Submission. The album was released in February 2006 by Listenable Records.
The music on the album is melodic death metal. Mostly with growling/ aggressive vocals but there are clean vocal parts on the album too. I think Soilwork is a rather big source of inspiration for the guys in Submission ( allthough Submission are generally more brutal), but the last couple of albums by fellow Danes Illdisposed, are no strangers to Submission either. The tracks on the album are well composed, well produced and well performed ( I like the melodic guitar solos), so in that respect "Failure to Perfection" is a quality product. Personally I could have wished for a more original songwriting approach, but if you like the style, I´m sure this album will satisfy your craving for melodic death metal.
So all in all it´s doubtful you´ll find anything new or or surprising on "Failure to Perfection", but quality wise a 3 star rating is certainly deserved.
