I heard a song called 'Gone' somewhere in Youtube by a band called SWITCHBLADE SCARLETT and I'm pretty interested because it's a bunch of young guys playing a keyboard-tinged rock and roll stuff just like THE QUIREBOYS, and it's such a great song. When I dig up more about this band, I found out that they're under Retrospect which is an indie label specializing in obscure hard rock bands and I gave it a shot, which is a satisfying shot I must say.
This album contains many various style, from the sleazy 'Big Apple Baby', to the semi-ballad of 'Red Clay', or from the uptempo commercial tune of 'White Line Fever', to the modern-rock-meets-80s-glam gem of 'Say Anything'. I think it's pretty interesting fact that these many classic rock influences were done by teenagers and even though you can sense that the arrangement isn't very mature, I'm already impressed with this achievement.
'Little Hearts' and 'Dirty Girl' are another fave of mine, but 'Saigon Lullaby' and '..At Least' aren't very good, but make sure you don't miss 'Lucielle' because it's the best thing they did on this album. They still need some time to improve but consider this a stepping stone for a better future. 75%
