T3h Shred Boiz' first demo can be summed up as one word: bombastic. Whether it's the silly lyrics, the crazy guitar work, or the whiplash blast-beating of the drum machine, the band lives up to the ridiculous standards they've made for themselves. The 'LOL' demo contains two songs written by them with a calmer cover song in between.
The starter "Grim Skiez" just focuses on being nonsensically brutal. There's a few good solos mixed in within it, which to me makes this song more worthy for a few multiple listens, although you may get ear-raped by the drum machine on the first listen. "Dead Sky Dawningz" is an instrumental cover of a Hypocrisy song. I didn't like the original, so that didn't help me to enjoy this version. I did think, however that the lack of singing made it less annoying. "Grim and Frostbitten Necrophallus" is an Immortal parody of sorts as far as the song title and the vocals that sound similar to Abbath's. This won't be a song you'll want to go back and listen to often. The problem is the tremolo riff recorded at a poor quality accompanied by nearly inaudible drumming that go on for about three minutes before going into a section of distorted bass feed back. The only saving grace of the song is the lengthly section of soft electric guitar soloing before ending the song pretty much the way is started.
It sounds stupid and there's definitely better ways to be experimental with death metal. But if you've got curiosity strong enough to check them out, I suggest you do so. 'LOL' is available for free download from T3h Shred Boiz' official Myspace along with the rest of their material so you virtually have nothing to lose from looking into them.
