THIN LIZZY BAD REPUTATION reviews

Specialists/collaborators reviews

Warthur
Although Jailbreak may well be the most popular album in Thin Lizzy's repertoire, I actually think Bad Reputation overall is the better album. It doesn't have a standout hit on the level of Jailbreak's The Boys Are Back In Town, but the songs as a whole are more consistent, so rather than having one monster song standing tall over the rest the album is a rewarding thinking fan's hard rock listen from start to finish. The production job from Tony Visconti helps, as does a really careful selection of material and running order; it's hard not to get hairs rising on the back of your neck when the melodic and slightly melancholic Soldier of Fortune draws to an end and the defiant title track bursts forth.
