Thrash Bombz dropping thrash bombs
Genre: thrash bombing thrash metal
Perhaps the name and the cover artwork might lead you into thinking that this Sicilian band is a crossover band akin to D.R.I. or maybe early C.O.C. That is actually not the case (not that there is anything at all wrong with crossover).
This band manages to take the essence of Slayer, Testament, Exodus and Megadeth and combine it all into a hellish thrash metal concoction of aggression. Apart from the melodic intro and the title track, all tracks on this EP are fierce and super solid thrashers. Needless to say, this stuff kicks ass! All songs are composed from excellent thrash metal riffage and all the aesthetics of the genre in its pre-groove metal incarnation are there (and there are some groovy elements too).
The musicianship and songwriting are top notch, and the production is nicely crunchy without being lo-fi. Perhaps this is not the most original music in the world, but that does not make it any less awesome. The vocals are delivered in a thick Italian accent, but foreign accents have their place in thrash metal, and, in this case, the accent just becomes an integral part of the overall sound.
This is a damn good thrash EP.
