I don't find this album appealing in the first spin, that's because I thought it's a very generic attempt by a Swedish band to emulate what Warrant and Poison did in the US, but years ahead when I started digging up Scandinavian bands, this came up along with their other albums, and when I decided to sit tight and give this gem a second chance, its true value started to shine and boy I just realized what I missed back then.
The Warrant and Poison reference isn't entirely wrong, especially when you listen to songs like "Party All Over", which can be a fun track in 'Cherry Pie' or "Get You On The Run", the great commercial stuff that could have been Poison track. "Conspiracy" is an uptempo blast, "Mr.Heartache" is heavy yet still retained the melodic edge, "Home Is Where Your Heart Is" is a fantastic melodic gem, the sparkling chorus is huge. Probably only "Hunger" is the disposable filler, but the rest are extremely good and very 80s sounding.
Treat is a legend in the melodic rock and AOR realm and I'm not surprised with the talent they possessed and the quality of this album. Comparing this to their latest album, "Coup De Grace", which I think is the higlight of 2010, this album might be a little bit behind, but both and their other releases are too valuable to skip. Brilliant effort by Ernlund and the gang, after hundred of spins, whiskeys, and beers, oh yeah, still as good as ever.
