"Indhentet af Døden" is the debut full-length studio album by Danish death metal act Undergang. The album was originally self-released as a promo tape limited to 100 copies but Me Saco Un Ojo Records picked up the album for a January 2010 vinyl release (effectively making "Indhentet af Døden" Undergang´s debut full-length studio album). Undergang was formed in 2008 by three former members of Copenhagen death metal band Realm of Chaos and it´s that trio lineup who recorded "Indhentet af Døden".
Undergang play old school, raw, and filthy death metal. The guitars are distorted, murky, and buzzing, the growls are completely unintelligible and low in the mix and featuring songtitles like "Opslugt af Mørket" ("Consumed by darkness"), "Forkullede Rester" ("Charred Remains"), and "Indhentet Af Døden" ("Overtaken by Death") the old school death metal aestethics are further solidified. As you might have noticed all songtitles and lyrics are in the Danish language, but as the growls are not easily decipherable I don´t think it should prove to be much of an issue to anyone.
The sound production is filthy and raw, but fans of the most simple old school death metal out there will probably enjoy this sound greatly. It´s exactly the type of sound production needed for music. Upon conclusion "Indhentet af Døden" is a good quality old school death metal release. A 3.5 star (70%) rating is deserved.
